Dear Editor: Swiss Village is a small, thriving mobile home neighborhood with 20 homes on 3 acres on Oak Street in Ouray. The residents own the homes but not the land beneath them. Thanks to the owners’ admirable willingness to keep the land rent low, it is arguably the most affordable housing in the county. But the owners are ready to move on and have put the neighborhood on the market. The residents have formed an association to try and buy the property, knowing they would need to impose rent increases on themselves to do so. Unfortunately, the maximum offer they can make is short of the owners’ asking price.
