Dear Editor: Lynn Padgett deserves the vote of Ouray County citizens. She is the most experienced commissioner and has a thorough knowledge of the key issues important to those of us who live in Ouray County. She makes it a point to be available to all of us. A good example is the recent floods that adversely affected many of our citizens. She made herself available to folks whose homes and properties were damaged and acted upon their needs along with the road issues. She cares about our environment and especially the critical alpine areas. She cares about public access to our public lands and our important water issues. Affordable housing is one of her high priorities, as is the health and safety of our citizens. She has been instrumental in improving staffing of the Sheriff's Office, along with her fellow commissioners. She has been an advocate for preserving our spectacular beauty and she is a dark sky advocate too. Lynn is not antigovernment. She believes that government and private enterprise working together is the best solution for success. A vote for Lynn Padgett is a vote to continue the effort to constantly improve our county.
