August 29, 1974 – At their regular meeting Aug. 25, the District R-1 Board decided the Ouray School gym would get a new heating system in the fall. The current heating system had been inadequate for years, and the board voted on the $8,500 project to install a new boiler in the gym building, piping, installation of fireproof walls around the boiler, thermostats, etc.
