July 18, 1974 – The deadline for use of the dump south of Ouray was July 1 of this year. The city of Ouray, Ouray County commissioners and the Forest Service have all been all too aware of this for the past few years. All three entities have been using the dump. At this time, however, efforts to find an alternative site for a sanitary landfill have come to nothing.
