Dear Editor: I recently returned from spending the winter in Baja Mexico, where I was unexpectedly charged by a Brahman bull while camped on a beach near San Jose del Cabo. Thankfully, a few people I had met that over the last two weeks on the beach heard my yells for help and called 911. I was taken to a local hospital with a badly fractured femur and hip joint. I spent three days in a public hospital and then transferred to a very fine hospital for a hip replacement with the help of a local resident, Suzy. Thanks to a few fellow travelers and other local residents, my dog and camper were taken care of for several days before friends that I had met the previous year could transport them to their house in Cabo San Lucas for safe keeping.
