June 6, 1974 – In action so rapid that it leaves everyone breathless, the House passed the Public Works Appropriations Bill for 1975 on Thursday, with the Dallas Creek Project funding intact, 374 to 21 votes. The news came by telephone communication from the Plaindealer's Washington D.C. correspondent, just at press time. In addition to the $400,000 voted for the new start on the Dallas Creek Project for 1975 by the appropriations committee, the Office of Management and Budget has frozen $250,000 already voted for the Dallas Creek Project in prior years. If all or part of the money is made available, the Dallas Project construction money would be used to buy rights of way for the Ridgway Dam and Reservoir, provide for a construction camp, and start the design of the Ridgway Dam.
