Stacia Lea Blackwell

Jan. 28, 1970-March 7, 2024

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Stacia Lea Blackwell passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2024. A matriarch figure that leaves family and friends devastated by this untimely loss of a pillar unto this family.

Stacia was born January 28, 1970, to Patricia Kline and Charles (Chuck) Kline in Bremerton, WA. Stacia was full of love and devotion for her family, every single day, and loved so fervently that the ripple will be felt across generations to come. She was a lover of all creatures (with a special place in her heart for alpacas) since the day she was born. You could always count on her to point out the “dear deer” on a short car trip to Ouray from her Ridgway home. Always so full of life and her fun-filled nature she would leave you splitting at the seams from laughter more often than not. Holidays always felt like they were steeped in magic in her household as she tended to every last detail to make each moment special beyond any of your wildest dreams.

On December 10th, 2023, she celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary to Kent Blackwell. The two of them shared what has been referred to as the “greatest love story” by all who had the privilege to witness the love they shared. She was always devoted and steadfast in her feelings and that was so deeply felt by her husband and two daughters. She was the kind of person you’d want fighting in your corner and we were all proud to have her in ours.

In April 2022 Stacia added “Nan” to her nameplate, and badge of honor, and could not have found a prouder stage in life as her first grandson joined the family. She loved both Charlie Jack and Oliver Hudson more than life itself. She took great pride in teaching Charlie to say “Yeeee-Haw” as he adorned his first pair of cowboy boots. She took each moment with her grandsons to extreme pleasures and never missed a moment to share how much she loved and adored them.

Stacia was a graduate of Mustang High School, class of 1988, in Mustang, Oklahoma. And while living in many places throughout her life and spending large spans in Oklahoma and Texas, the last 6 years spent in Colorado left her committed to never leaving. She loved the amazing beauty and endless wildlife Colorado had to share.

Stacia is preceded in death by her father Charles (Chuck) Kline and fur-babies Baci and Poppy.

She is survived by her great love and husband of 30 years Kent Blackwell; her daughters Baelee Blackwell and Isabella Young; son-in-law Clayton Young, grandsons Charlie and Oliver; her mother Patricia Kline; sister Tina Jung and brother-in-law Ron Jung; brother Charles Kline; and countless beloved nieces and nephews.
