Man found not guilty in 2018 rape trial arrested for alleged sex assault

A Ridgway man acquitted by a jury in a felony sexual assault case in Ouray County in 2018 has been arrested for alleged sexual assault again.

Brian Scranton, 48, was arrested on a warrant on suspicion of felony sexual assault in connection with the alleged assault of a 28-year-old Ridgway woman in December. He was booked into the Montrose County Jail on Monday on $25,000 bond.

The details of the allegations were not available Tuesday. The Plaindealer has requested public records from the court but...
