Ronald Floyd Williams Sr., born on May 5, 1941, passed away peacefully Dec. 5 in Montrose, CO, in his home with his family.
Ronald was a gregarious and loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was born in Delta, CO, and spent his growing up years between Colorado and Idaho, graduating in Rathdrum, ID, where he still has many remaining friends and family.
Ron moved to Ouray in the late 1950s and began his 45-year mining career at the Camp Bird Mine. He later met and married his wife Jewel in Ouray, where they proudly raised their three boys.
He later retired to Montrose but stayed active in the family business in Ouray at the 4 J Campground and RV Park and the Masonic lodge.
Ron is survived by his sons Clark, Bumper and Jason; 7 grandkids, Kori, Preston, John, Jason, Jaxson, Kayla and Lauren; and one great grandchild, Brooks; brother Paul; and half brother David. Memorial service to be announced in spring of 2024.
