Dear Editor: Is it too much to suggest that the Ouray Bookshop is Ouray's beating heart? Within its walls it is so much to so many: a repository for local history, a guide to our mountains, a forum for current events, a much-needed escape into the world of great fiction and a quiet place to grab a friend and put together a jigsaw puzzle. Outside of those walls the staff of the bookshop has brought the world to us by bringing to our community the authors that have done so much to capture our imagination from walks through pre-history to the communities that died with the filling of Blue Mesa.
