A Ridgway resident for 11 years, Darun Ariyadech passed away on September 30 at age 67.
He was born September 17, 1956, to the late Jarean and Somchid Ariyadech, a military family in the beautiful Mountain area, Pak Chong District in Thailand.
He retired after a long career as an engineer with the state railroad of Thailand.
Darun was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend and neighbor, Surang Phunsawat.
Darun helped raise his two children with patience, discipline and humility. He taught them to read, write, and drive and often took them on long family trips to see the natural beauty in the world.
He is survived by his wife Surang, his son Witsanu- Metinee Ariyadech, and his grandchildren Wirunpatchara, Weerawish Ariyadech. Also, his daughter Patcharin Lawler and grandchildren Sean Lawler, Patchareya Lawler.
As a resident of Ridgway, he enjoyed cooking, gardening and his grandchildren. His sense of humor enlightened those around him. Darun was generous at heart. He was kind, and he always had time to help others and or solve a problem, no matter how small.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. A memorial will be held at the Eagle Hill Ranch Clubhouse, 417 Golden Eagle Trail, Ridgway, Saturday, October 7th, at 10 am.
