Heavy rain washes out roads around Ouray

Heavy rain triggered flooding that washed out several roads around Ouray Saturday afternoon.

The Ouray County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert at 3:40 p.m. asking the public to avoid County Road 17 near Corbett Creek and Yankee Boy Basin due to washouts.

Ouray Mountain Rescue was called out to assist three people who had parked at the Dallas Trailhead and were stranded because County Road 17 was washed out. There was no immediate indication that anyone was injured. Ouray County Road and Brid...
