A new campaign encourages responsible tourism in an effort to preserve a town and region that's at risk of being overrun
For decades, Ouray has reveled in its self-proclaimed nickname as the “Switzerland of America.” The moniker famously etched on the oversized wooden sign at the Highway 550 lookout above town celebrates the jagged peaks encircling the Victorian-era village below.
