Property tax boost should go to roads
Dear Editor:
I assume that almost everyone in Ouray County who owns property has reviewed their new tax assessments, shocking as they were. The county assessor was wise to send our warning notices before the actual documents went out, probably preventing a wave of heart attacks.
I don’t begrudge the county for collecting taxes and assessment is a part of that. What I wonder is what is to become of all this new tax money. Not only have assessments gone through the roof but there has been a large ...
