Dear Editor:

I am seriously opposed to serving alcohol at the Ouray pool.

It is a special part of our town: a draw for many visitors and a part of our locals’ enjoyment, especially families.

Many people have witnessed the detrimental effect of high heat and/or exercise combined with alcohol.

I question the ability of our young lifeguards to handle alcohol-related incidents. Their attention should be on the people swimming, rather than people drinking.
