Dear Editor: I’d like to thank the City and County of Ouray and the U.S. Forest Service for their recent efforts to address the potential of catastrophic wildfires in our area.

We are recent part-time residents of Ouray and have come to love the people, the dramatic scenery and the small town energy that make Ouray so special.

But we have our concerns. You see, we were evacuated from our home in another WUI (wildland urban interface) community three times due to catastrophic wildfires.
