Dear Editor: I’m the Elk Meadows homeowner with that “whopping” 57,000 gallon usage in November 2021. I was notified by email Dec. 1, 2021, as soon as the report for November was generated, and sure enough, it was a broken line between the HOA main line and my house, hence my responsibility to repair.

I got lucky: A contractor with an excavator was working nearby and, with the help of the head of the water committee, was able to excavate and repair the line the next day, Dec. 2, 2021.
