April 5, 1973 – At a special meeting Monday night, the Ridgway School Board decided to reduce the teaching staff by two teachers and combine grades 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5 and 6, in order to conserve funds. There was little action to report of the regular March 15 board meeting, but the Plaindealer reporter had inquired then about teacher contracts.
