Weeks after declining to act on a proposal to give itself a pay raise and an accompanying benefits package, the Ouray City Council is reconsidering part of the idea.

Councilors on Monday informally directed City Administrator Silas Clarke to draft a plan that would increase the mayor’s pay from $6,000 to $12,000 a year and all other councilors’ pay from $2,400 to $6,000 a year. The council is expected to vote on the plan on April 17.
