Visitor and resident spending in Ouray is up in the first month 2023, providing a boost for the local economy in the midst of financial uncertainty at the national level.

The city received $167,385 in sales tax revenue from spending in January, a nearly 13% increase over January 2022. That figure largely represents money that was spent in the first month of the year, remitted to the city in February and reported in March.
