Dear Editor: A thank you to the Ouray City Council for not voting themselves raises. And I know that they do spend many unseen hours outside of the council meetings working for the citizens of Ouray. Past and present members of the council did not run for the job to make money, but as a public service.

No thanks to the Ouray County commissioners. Apparently $75,000 per year is not enough for those folks, who voted to ask the state to raise their pay to approximately $88,000!
