Ouray County kicked off its long-awaited master plan update process Tuesday, with a work session with consultants KLJ Engineering and the Planning Commission.

The county’s current master plan was adopted in 1999.

Updating the plan includes five tasks: documenting the existing conditions, defining the county’s capacity for and evaluating scenarios for growth, developing strategies and policies, and completing the plan.
