Storms provide big boost for San Juan snowpack
Recent storms dumped wet snow on the high country and helped build snowpack, something water managers keep a close eye on this time of year.
These snows aren’t just for skiers to enjoy – mountain snowpack is a form of water storage, ensuring next year’s reservoirs will have water to fill them and water managers can dispense that water carefully to last through dry summer weather for domestic use, agriculture, recreation and wildlife.
