Dear Editor: On the night of Dec. 19 I had the pleasure of a flat tire on U.S. Highway 550 in between Ouray and Ridgway. Woefully underdressed in Christmas pajamas and Crocs, I started grumbling and retrieving the snow-encrusted spare tire and that terrible little bottle jack that never seems to work. But enough grumbling. Firefighter David Turner was driving by and graciously stopped to help me! And what a help he was! Together, we turned an hour-long misery into a 10-minute minor inconvenience...
