November 23, 1972 – The state approved a permit for cloud seeding to EG&G, contractors of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Project Skywater and operator Lawrence Jernstad. This is the third consecutive year for the project, which has a goal of obtaining more snowfall with weather modification.
