October 26, 1972 – Hunters keep the Sheriff’s Office busy, too. Ouray County Sheriff Art Dougherty reports that a doe and a license were stolen from the Jeep of a Mr. Frumm of Denver, while the vehicle was parked in front of the Sunset Restaurant at Ridgway. A deer head was stolen from the back of a camper belonging to hunters from Texas. Two hunters from Oklahoma were fined $200 for shooting from the road.
