Hiker rescued from Engineer Pass

A Ouray County hiker was rescued by the Hinsdale County Search and Rescue team near the top of Engineer Pass on Sunday night, after attempts by Ouray Mountain Rescue Team were thwarted by weather.

Barrie Bloom, 69, was reported missing near Bear Creek Trail and Engineer Pass Sunday afternoon. The Ouray County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert at 2:40 p.m.
