Report: No ‘gross negligence’ with fire
The team who reviewed the Simms Fire found no “gross negligence” on the part of the U.S. Forest Service in the prescribed fire that started a wildfire and burned 313 acres and three structures in May.
But during the “facilitated learning analysis” review of the fire and prescribed burn plan, the participants made recommendations for better planning and communication in conducting prescribed fires, as well as monitoring the fire after it was ignited.
