October 12, 1972 – Ouray County retail sales jumped from $407,000 to $617,000 for a whopping 51.6% increase over the same period in 1971, according to figures released by the Business Research Division, Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Colorado.
The city of Ouray, representing 72.5% of the count, showed an increase of 24.9% or $447,000 as compared with $358,000 for the same period in 1971. The state of Colorado generally showed a 17% increase. San Miguel...
