After a three-month slide, sales activity picked up in July in Ouray, providing a boost during what’s traditionally the biggest tourism month of the year.

Most other forms of revenue dropped compared to 2021, though spending remained above pre-pandemic levels.

Sales tax receipts from July totaled nearly $422,000, a 3.1% increase over the $409,073 in sales tallied in July 2021. That revenue is remitted to the city in August and reported in September.
