Dear Editor: We hope you saw the Great Old Broads for Wilderness paid ad last week on the back page of this publication describing the risk to our native bighorn sheep population from respiratory pathogens carried by domestic sheep grazing on public lands. As member leaders of our local chapter of Great Old Broads, we have been monitoring bighorn sheep in the northern San Juan Mountains since 2019. You may have even seen the new signs about this initiative at trailheads this summer.
