A video taken on Oct. 18, 2019, two days after the fire started, shows the Cow Creek Outfitters camp was largely untouched, though the downed tree to the left of the tent was still smoldering. A Forest Service investigation said the hunters’ stovepipe was responsible for sparking the blaze, but the outfitting service owner said he doesn’t agree.
