Addressing tobacco, vaping much needed
Dear Editor: A quarter of a century “Big Tobacco,” whose products were killing more than 400,000 Americans a year, appeared to be on the ropes. Cities and states around the country had enacted clean indoor air ordinances which had a positive impact on people’s smoking habits, and the tobacco settlement cost the industry $246 billion over 25 years. We in medicine or public health thought a corner had been turned, and a leading cause of death in the country might finally have been caged....
