Dear Editor: We are writing to support and thank the Ouray library co-directors for hosting the drag queen story hour.

As parents of two, we are protective of our children. We know that one of the most harmful things our children could experience would be to live in a community that rejects and punishes diversity of identity and self-expression. An intolerant community culture can lead to increased levels of violence, mental health problems, substance misuse and suicide risk.
