Sales activity to start the summer tourism season in Ouray continued a spring trend — less spending compared to last year but far more than pre-pandemic spending in 2019.

Sales tax receipts from May purchases totaled $348,517, a nearly 5% drop from June 2021.

That revenue is remitted to the city in July and reported in August.
