August 24, 1972 – At the Ouray County commissioner public meeting Monday the zoning ordinance requiring a “green belt” in each subdivision was changed. It now reads that subdivisions in level areas will not be required to set aside 25 percent of their land for public use, but may instead pay a fee for the purpose of constructing parks and schools.
