The recent opening of a gift shop inside the Ouray Visitor Center is drawing backlash from at least one local business owner who claims the city is directly competing with them and potentially harming his bottom line.
Ouray’s Tourism Advisory Committee on Tuesday delayed a decision on changing the gift shop after receiving the complaints, but agreed to recommend spending up to $24,000 on new digital marketing tools for the city.
