August 10, 1972 – Kathleen Evans, 28, of Norman, Oklahoma died Tuesday afternoon as a result of injuries sustained early that morning while she attempted to rescue her 3-year-old son from a runaway Jeep on a mountain road near Ouray. Mrs. Evans, her husband Michael and their son David, has gone part way up the road leading over Engineer Mountain, and stopped about four miles up County Road No. 18.
