June 8, 1972 – Wednesday, May 31, a 14-year-old runaway from Tinley Park, Illinois was surprised while robbing a motor home at the Amphitheater Campground. The owners of the motor home, the John Stanfords of Englewood, Florida, returned from a fishing trip at Molas Lake and surprised the juvenile in the act of the theft.
