Dear Editor:

In 1944 when I was in Normandy, the sirens would glare and tell us that a bombing raid had begun, it was time to go. And we knew where the closest bomb shelter was. This is unlikely to happen in the county, but … what if a hazmat truck has an accident on Main Street? What if the city is threatened by a fire or a flood? I trust that we have in the books some plan to face disasters. But the people of the county should be aware of what to do. How do we evacuate, north or south? Ho...
