Spending remains strong in Ouray
Ouray leaders figure it’s a matter of time before the city’s revenue balloon, inflated to record levels in back to back years by pandemic-fueled tourism, begins to lose some air.
It just so happens that time isn’t now.
Spending continued to remain strong in February, as the city pulled in more than $163,000 in sales tax revenue, 19% more than the same month in 2021. Through the first two months of the year, the city has collected more than $311,000, 12% more than the same time last year.
