To alleviate sheriff staffing shortage, how about volunteer help?
Dear Editor:
I appreciated Mr. Nelson’s letter about staffing the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office. I have a suggestion about the shortage of personnel. When I lived back east in northern Virginia in Fairfax County, the biggest county in the state, the police had auxiliaries, volunteer citizens who were trained and worked in the local police stations.
