A citizen-driven initiative to ask voters to raise property taxes for the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office has been proposed to county commissioners.

Log Hill residents Richard Wojciechowski and John Nelson presented a proposal for a new tax to the commissioners on April 6 to raise funds for the sheriff’s office.
