Ouray tax revenue off to strong start
Coming off back-to-back record years of sales and lodging tax revenue, the city of Ouray is off to a strong economic start in 2022, which includes receipts from the new excise tax on short-term rentals.
The city pulled in $23,428 in revenue in January from the new 15% tax that’s applied to nightly rates for homes and rooms rented for 30 days or less in the city. Voters in November approved the tax by a 57-43 margin.
