State offering grants to reduce bear conflicts
As bears begin their early spring emergence from hibernation on the Western Slope, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering up to $1 million in grants to help reduce conflicts between the animals and humans.
Local governments, non-government organizations, homeowner associations, community groups, business, tribes, universities and individuals are eligible to receive funding, and can apply for grants of $50,000 to $500,000. The initiative is being funded from $3.5 million in wildlife conservation ...
