Dear Editor:

I was dismayed to read a guest column in last week’s paper that denigrates women. Misogyny and patriarchy are, unfortunately, alive and well in Ouray County. I am infuriated and deeply disturbed by the image of an inebriated woman in an alley being “rescued” by a man as supposed humor and a text about bathroom graffiti and recreational sex as a purported joke? Words that objectify and belittle women have consequences.
