January has been an interesting month for seeing lots of different raptor species.
Several birders have seen more birds of prey than usual, including Red-tailed Hawks as well as other hawks, but they’re really excited about spotting the Golden Eagle.
This big bird has an average length of 30 to 35 inches, a wingspan average of 79 inches and can weigh up to 14 lbs.
