Ridgway Elementary School was the site of the county’s eighth COVID-19 outbreak earlier this month, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. 

The school had one staff case and five student cases related to the outbreak, which was reported to public health officials on Jan. 13. The state reported the cases on its outbreak map on Jan.19. 

An investigation into the outbreak is active, according to CDPHE.
