Ouray County may save money if it moves forward with an eco-friendly plan to convert all its light bulbs to those using less energy.

The commissioners discussed the plan in a work session last week, which should reduce electricity costs and pay off in a short period of time. One commissioner touted the project as low-hanging fruit to make the county greener and save money, without significant up-front costs.
