Heating cost assistance available to residents

Ouray County residents who need help paying their energy bills this winter can apply for assistance through a federally funded program.

The Ouray County Department of Human Services is now accepting Low Income Energy Assistance Program applications through April 30. LEAP is a federal program that helps eligible residents pay a portion of their winter home heating costs, with the benefit typically being paid directly to the household energy supplier.
